Rowany Festival – Canceled for 2020 due to Corona
Rowany festival is the largest SCA event in Australia, surpassing a thousand attendants. Though usually held on Easter, this year it will be Wednesday April 15 2020 to 4PM Sunday April 19th 2020, during the UOW mid session recess. It has tournaments and wars for both heavy combat and rapier, dance practices and balls, a market morning, and way too many things to list.
If going, you have to make your own timetable because there’s often more than two things happening at once. To make the point, I counted 22 hours of activities under Costuming & Textiles. You should check out the different types of activies here because the timetable doesn’t fit everything.
For longer than I’ve been in the SCA it has been at Camp Wombaroo, 162 Black Spring Rd, High Range (Map). There’s usually people willing to pick people up from the nearby train station.
